Welcome to Barrow Primary School

Headteacher’s Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to our website and to share a glimpse of what makes Barrow CEVC Primary School such a special place to learn, grow and “live life to the full” (John 10:10).

I feel incredibly proud to lead this vibrant and caring school community, where high expectations, strong relationships and our Christian vision sit at the heart of everything we do. At Barrow, we are driven by a simple but important question: How can every child truly thrive? This shapes our decisions each day and ensures that every child is known, valued and supported to achieve their very best.

We are passionate about providing a rich and engaging curriculum filled with meaningful experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence and develop a lifelong love of learning. Alongside strong academic outcomes, we place equal importance on character, wellbeing and spiritual development, ensuring our children grow into thoughtful, resilient and compassionate individuals, ready to flourish in an ever-changing world.

Our talented and dedicated staff team work tirelessly to ensure that teaching, care and support meet the needs of every child. We are proud of our nurturing environment, where children feel safe, happy and inspired to succeed. This is underpinned by strong pastoral care, clear expectations and a culture that promotes respect, kindness and ambition.

Barrow has a strong tradition of success, with consistently high standards and a commitment to continuous improvement. However, what truly matters to us is not just what children achieve, but who they become.

We aim to:

  • Provide a rich, engaging curriculum that inspires a love of learning
  • Build confident, independent learners who embrace challenge
  • Foster a strong sense of community, inclusion and belonging
  • Support children’s spiritual, moral and cultural development
  • Encourage every child to make a positive contribution to the world around them

We recognise that education works best when school and home work in partnership, and we greatly value the support of our families in shaping each child’s journey.

Choosing the right school is one of the most important decisions you will make for your child. I warmly invite you to visit us, meet our wonderful children and staff, and experience first-hand the warmth, energy and ambition that make Barrow such a special place.

I look forward to welcoming you.
